  • Felony disenfranchisement currently impacts over 200,000 Georgians. 
  • Felony disenfranchisement disproportionately harms Black voters because of over-policing of Black communities and disparities in the criminal justice system. 
  • While 33% of Georgia’s population is Black, nearly 60% of Georgia’s prison population is Black. 
  • Currently, felony disenfranchisement impacts a total of 5% of the Black electorate in Georgia.
  • Felony disenfranchisement currently impacts nearly 234,000 Georgians, including those on probation and parole
  • All Georgians are impacted by the decisions of those who are elected to represent our communities — especially those of us in the criminal legal system. 
  • Rights restoration recognizes the importance of our ability to participate in decisions that impact all of our lives.
