Crystal is originally from Statesboro, GA, but after graduating from high school, moved to Macon,GA to pursue her education at Mercer University–not knowing at the time that Middle Georgia would become home for the next fifteen years.

Crystal found herself working in a behavioral health center serving community members who were overcoming challenges associated with mental health and substance abuse. While serving in this position, she was allowed to witness firsthand the inequities that exist in impoverished communities. Being forced to confront the harsh realities of poverty, mental illness, and racism daily, Crystal was filled with a fiery conviction which has undoubtedly been the driving force behind many of the vocational choices she has made in  life. Because of her work in behavioral health, each job or assignment she has accepted thereafter has been framed and guided by the question of, how can I serve those who are often overlooked and counted out?  She’s thrilled to be back in the corner of the world that nurtured her and in this new chapter with a position where she is allowed to enrich the lives of others through storytelling, artistic expression, and dynamic leadership.
