Justice Impacted

Deep’s Justice-Impacted Work creates pathways of healing, leadership, and advocacy for youth and adults who have been directly affected by the justice system. Through creative writing, community organizing, and policy advocacy, participants transform lived experience into powerful tools for change. By centering justice-impacted voices, Deep not only supports individual growth and resilience but also challenges inequities in education, policing, and reentry, working toward a community where accountability, opportunity, and dignity are accessible to all.

  1. RISE Initiative (Restoring Identity, Strength, and Empowerment) – Cultivates voice, agency, and resilience among system-impacted youth through a restorative, trauma-informed, and justice-centered lens. Offered in partnership with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice’s Regional Youth Detention Center and the Educational Transition Center.
  2. Barbershop Debriefs – Creates intergenerational spaces for system-impacted adults and youth to share lived experiences, process challenges, and build collective power for healing and change.
  3. Policy Advocacy – Amplifies the voices of justice-impacted individuals to influence education, justice, and reentry policies, ensuring that those most affected shape the reforms that impact their lives.
