Dr. Danielle Pilgrim, a visionary leader, strategic communicator, and justice-driven advocate joined Deep Center as Director of Public Policy and Communications in 2025. Dr. Pilgrim brings a wealth of experience in public policy, grassroots organizing, and equity-centered storytelling to Deep’s restorative justice efforts.
Danielle is no stranger to the work of systemic change. With a PhD in Community Engagement, an emphasis on Public Policy, and experience working at the intersection of civic engagement and social equity she has dedicated her career to amplifying the voices of those often pushed to the margins. Most recently, she served as Executive Director of Justice Unites Savannah Together (JUST), where she led bold campaigns for access to mental health care and affordable housing, mobilizing hundreds of residents and public officials in pursuit of transformative change.
At Deep, Danielle leads our public policy and communications strategies, strengthening the bridge between youth voice, community power, and systems-level impact. In her role, she oversees how Deep tells its story to the world while also shaping our advocacy efforts to advance policies that support youth, families, and communities across Savannah and beyond.
“Deep Center’s mission resonates deeply with my own,” Danielle shared. “At a time when young people are navigating a world shaped by inequity, Deep not only affirms their brilliance, it equips them with the tools to lead. I’m honored to help lift their voices and build policy solutions that reflect their lived experience, creativity, and power.”
