DESCRIPTION:Deep Center\, in partnership with The Leadership Conference Education Fund\, has opened up applications to the first ever Just Us Academy\, a free two-day training program for everyday people interested in creating more inclusive\, just communities where everyone can thrive\, specifically with a focus on criminal justice reform. \nJust Us Academy will be held over two days: \nFriday\, September 20 — 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. \nSaturday\, September 21 — 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (optional dinner afterwards) \nDeep Center community Space \n3025 Bull Street \nSavannah\, GA 31415 \nTo register: https://tinyurl.com/bdz85a6z \nTo see the agenda for the Just Us Academy\, click here: https://tinyurl.com/544698mv \nThe mission of Just Us Academy is to be a place where people can build connections with one another\, learn the basics of movement work and community organizing\, and deepen their understanding of the world around them. Participants will be provided breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner during the academy. During the Just Us Academy\, participants will: \n\nOpening night dinner with a facilitated conversation and asset mapping exercise.\nWhat is movement work and community organizing 101 workshop lead by facilitators from The Leadership Conference Education Fund.\nTeach-in on Critical Hope and how to be a part of the larger campaign for a new hope city.\nYou exist in the context: A guided tour focused on movement history in Savannah.\nClosing open-air teach-in at The Weeping Time to understand where we have been and what’s at stake.\nOptional closing night dinner.
