Leona Humphries is a longtime Savannah resident originally from the DC Metro area, who joined the Deep team in 2024. She earned her M.Ed. in education policy and leadership from American University, specializing in middle and high school youth. Leona brings her passion for community advocacy and educational outreach to Deep’s youth literacy programs. Her interests include short stories and poetry. When she is not writing, you can find her spending time with friends and family watching baseball or Premier League soccer, or hanging out with her cats, Mo Pumpkin and Kitty Jo.
