Spring 2019 Deep Speaks

May 13, 2019 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Deep Center presents our spring 2019 Deep Speaks event!

Twice a year, we release anthologies featuring original, vivid, and fearless stories, poems, and plays written by our young authors—public middle school students who participated in Deep’s Young Author Project. On May 13th, we will celebrate the 150+ published authors whose brave and beautiful works fill the pages of four gorgeously-illustrated and bound volumes. These books will be available for purchase at the event for a suggested donation of $12 per copy. Deep Speaks will also feature live readings by 45 young authors who were selected by their peers to represent each of the 15 semester-long workshops held across Chatham County schools throughout the spring of 2019. You’ll be thrilled, moved, and deeply impressed by the artistic merit and maturity of these literary works.

We invite you to join us from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13th at The Historic Savannah Theatre, located at 222 Bull St. on Chippewa Square. Seating is first-come, first-served. The readings will start promptly at 6:30.

This event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

Note: Deep authors are fearless and can write challenging content. Parental guidance is advised.

The Savannah Theatre serves only as the venue for the event and is not responsible for any content of any part of the presentation or programming.
